The
Brittany Spaniel is a lovable hunter. A devoted hunting dog and family
pet. We have created a Pet Crest to honor this wonderful Brittany breed.
Meaning
of the Brittany Pet Crest
The CREST or top of the Coat-of-Arms displays the national emblem of
France. The flag at the left is that of Wales, with the Irish Flag on the left,
symbolizing the possible migration of the breed. The MANTLING at either side of the CREST
depicts the Celts who (tradition holds) were driven from Gaul to Ireland and Wales and
brought the breed with them to the British Isles. The SHIELD portrays a head study of this
lovable hunter. The SUPPORTERS on either side of the SHIELD illuminate the fall hunting
scenery. The GROUND displays the game of the versatile little spaniel. Upper group left to
right: Quail, White-tailed buck and Ring-necked Pheasants. Lower group left to right:
Hungarian Partridge, Ruffed Grouse, White-tailed Jackrabbit and the Jack Snipe. The TITLE
and MOTTO complete the Coat-of-Arms. Check the History button for more information.
