Meaning
of the Chihuahua Pet Crest
The heraldic symbolism of the Pet Crest begins at the CREST or top of
the representation. Here stands the Toltec Temple strong under the golden sun, symbolic of
the ancient Mexican origin of this "smallest of all breeds." The center SHIELD
portrays two watercolor head studies of the smooth and longhair Chihuahua. The STANDARDS
on either side of the SHIELD are representations of Toltec gods that stand at the doors of
