Meaning of the Golden
Pet Crest
The CREST or top of the Pet Crest depicts the scene of the
purchase of the yellow puppy from a cobbler by Lord Tweedmouth in 1865. The MANTLING on
the right and left sides of the Crest show flying game birds. On the right are the
beautiful Snow geese and on the left, Canadian geese and Mallards. The center SHIELD
portrays a composite head study of this sporting breed. The SUPPORTERS on either side of
the SHIELD depict two hunting scenes. On the right, hunters of the late 19th
century and on the left, a contemporary scene. The GROUND at the base of the SHIELD
displays popular game birds Pintails, Canvasbacks, and common Goldeneye. The TITLE
and MOTTO complete the Pet Crest. Check
