Meaning
of the Rottweiler Pet Crest
The CREST or top of the Pet Crest symbolizes the connection between the Roman
Legions and the suppliers of food to the troops. The Roman Seal is displayed at the very
top with the butcher cutting cuts of meat to feed the army. On either side of the CREST
Roman soldiers stand guard on top.
The center SHIELD portrays a head study of the breed. The SUPPORTER on the left
side of the SHIELD depicts Roman barracks. The SUPPORTER on the right side of the SHIELD
shows a roman soldier training the Rottweiler to keep the cattle in line. The GROUND
at the base of the SHIELD displays the caretaker of the cattle that traveled with the
Roman army. The base also shows the Rottweiler with a bag containing Roman coins to keep
other soldiers or the enemy from stealing.
